potash ore sylvinite

Document

When potash occurs, it often overlies the halite to form the top of the cycle, or it may be interbedded within the halite. Each cycle is marked, top and bottom, by sharp contacts interpreted as disconformities. The potash-bearing ore, sylvinite, is a mixture of sylvite or potassium chloride (KCl) and halite or sodium chloride (NaCl).
