Mostly I use a slim 3-corner file, then a very fine stone, then either steel wool (stainless steel frets) or bronze wool (nickle-silver frets/ skinny frets). ("Polishing" can remove material, giving you a low fret, at which point, call your local luthier, or go to Ebay and buy another Cozart.)

32" notched straightedge? | TalkBass

If anybody makes a notched straightedge for this scale, i havent found it. Planning on making my own. Even an inexpensive hardware store ruler is plenty straight enough, but im going to lap it a little on my fret leveling beam. Aluminum files pretty easily with a rat tail file, or just a grinding stone bit in a Dremel, probably what I'll do.
